About Albuquerque
Albuquerque is the largest city in New Mexico and is situated in the region known as the high desert. The city itself is essentially two separate cities conjoined together. Albuquerque is a city that has a ton of cultural history that dates back well before the founding of America. With regular events, art exhibits, and other options, there's something for everyone.
- National Museum of Nuclear Science and History
Are you interested in something educational that is a little different from the norm? Then perhaps the National Museum of Nuclear Science and History is more up your alley. This museum showcases all sorts of science around the origin of the atomic bomb and nuclear power. - ABQ Biopark Botanic Garden
For a more relaxed experience that lets you get lost in nature, the ABQ Biopark Botanic Garden is a great spot for those that love the outdoors with over a mile and a half of trails winding through both natural and cultivated gardens. There are tons of plants and fauna to see as well. There's even a summer camp option for kids that want to explore nature and learn something at the same time.
- La Luz Trail
For those that are more adventurous, the La Luz trail could be what you are seeking. This roughly nine-mile trail hikes up the Sandias Mountains and ends at the highest point in the region, allowing for stunning views of Albuquerque. It's important to note that this trail isn't for the faint of heart, but if you're feeling adventurous and love a good hike, then this is the perfect spot to visit. Once you're done with all of your event planning and corporate meeting business, that is.
- New Mexico Steam Locomotive and Railroad Society
This nonprofit organization offers guided tours of a work in progress as well as the restoration of a 19th-century locomotive that ran until the early 1950s through New Mexico. Even if you're not a train fanatic yourself, getting to watch a literal steam engine get restored is something not many can claim to have seen in person. What's more, during your guided tour, you can learn about the history of the locomotive and the route that it ran while it was in service.
