- Levine Museum of the New South
The Levine Museum of the New South focuses on the region’s history after the Civil War and celebrates the people who have helped it change. By connecting museum visitors to the past, their mission is to help people realize what promises the new South has. Exhibits celebrate Black contributions as well as the cultural identities of others.
- Uptown Charlotte
You find Uptown Charlotte in the heart of Charlotte’s financial and business district. Uptown Charlotte covers 3.5 acres and one of the major attractions is the green. It’s on South Tryon Street and while the size is limited to 1.5 acres it is an inviting space filled with art and statues as well as greenery.
- U.S. National Whitewater Center
It’s time to get your adrenaline and heart rate pumping. The U.S. National Whitewater Center probably isn’t what you expected to find in Charlotte, but it is located here. There are man-made rapids for all levels of paddlers, and in sports from rafting to canoeing. Even better, the center is located on 1,300 acres and has 40 miles of multi-use trails for hiking, mountain biking, and trail running.
