5
Incredible place for filming. Although we didn't use the outdoor space it allowed for incredible natural light as well as a space for us to put lights to enhance the light coming in. The place is decorated immaculately so that every shot is visually stunning. Some of my favorite shots of the film were taken in this space simply because of how the space is designed. Also, Zoe was amazing to work with.

Book the Best Study Spots in Downtown New York

New York is well known for public study spaces like the New York Public Library or the Elmer Holmes Bobst Library. But if you're looking for a quiet atmosphere and some privacy, then Giggster certainly has a wealth of study spaces in the city for you to choose from. The ideal place should be versatile enough for lessons and workshops, conferences, and study sessions.

Find some of the best study spots in NYC with the help of Giggster. A beautiful collegiate library in New York with a lecture hall and private room upstairs can be used for any number of events, such as writing workshops or a well-advertised seminar. On the other hand, if you prefer something that's more lowkey, you can explore the option of a Sugar Hill townhouse with a quiet study space and comfortable seating for a small group of people. It's also highly popular for shoots!

Look through the carefully curated list of venues on the Giggster site and find a study spot in NYC that ticks all your boxes. Peace and quiet and plenty of books are just some of the things that make our venues stand out.

Incredible Locations with Study Spaces Curated by Giggster

Discover the best study spots in NYC with the help of the Giggster site. Whether you're doing an important photoshoot or organizing a lecture series, you'll need proper study and work spaces that are not only quiet but also have the kind of facilities and materials that you might need.

  • Head to a cozy sanctuary of an apartment that gets plenty of light and has designated workspaces for several people. This could work very well for team meetings and team projects.

  • An artsy duplex brownstone with plenty of art and posters along the wall and a table at which you could spread out your writing and artistic materials is an excellent place to brainstorm a creative project.

  • A full-floor Village loft with proper study spaces, a serene environment, and ample seating is often used for photo and video shoots. Use the desks to plan out all the details of your shoot and consult your cast and crew on their ideas beforehand.

  • A spacious conference room in Manhattan has a professional atmosphere and large windows to let in plenty of light. It's the best place for board meetings regarding your company.

Amazing Study Spaces Starting at Just $18/hour

Exceptional Variety & Quality: NYC's 24 study spots will please the most discerning of people, ranging from penthouse and lofts with comfortable seating, free Wi-Fi, and designated work areas to a school theater and auditorium with a stage for a seminar.

Top Events for New York Study Spaces

Places like Housing Works Bookstore Café are a very cozy and popular choice for private study sessions. But New York has plenty of other possibilities, and Giggster can help you explore them all.

Team Meetings – Private Rooms. If you want to sip coffee and plan out your schedule for the year, skip the traditional conference rooms and opt for a spacious study area inside an apartment or a condo. The character and personality of a space is more invigorating than any boring old meeting room.

Workshops – Ideal Teaching Environments. Gather together a bunch of enthusiastic young students for your specialized workshop in any one of the New York townhouses with designated work stations. There are several locations of the sort that guarantee privacy and solitude.

Seminars/Lectures – A Haven for Learning. What could be better for a lecture series than a collegiate library where the attendees are simply surrounded by books? Large windows that let in lots of light and private rooms are another plus. Or you could always opt for a school theater and auditorium.

Podcasts – Peaceful and Quiet Spot. Podcasts have become so popular nowadays, and while a recording studio or filming studio is certainly an option, you can also choose a stylish apartment or modern Brooklyn townhouse and set up all your equipment. It certainly makes for a cozy ambiance.

Photoshoots – Distinctive Backdrops. New York City certainly has some picturesque locations for a photoshoot, and what is more picturesque than the private library and study of a Victorian mansion, with all its wooden bookshelves and handsome leather armchairs?

New York Study Location Must-Haves

What makes a study space a popular choice, and what features must it have to make everyone, from students to seasoned professionals, covet it?

What are the vibes like? Is it a quiet place with plenty of privacy and ample seating? A dim conference room with hard chairs is not very conducive to creative or intellectual work.

What amenities does the space have? From free Wi-Fi to easy access to the public transport system and the subway, there are a bunch of things that might make one NYC study much preferable to another.

How many people can fit? Depending on how big your event is and how many people you intend to invite, you'll need to find a venue that's spacious enough. A lot of homes in the city are pretty cramped, after all.

Pros and Cons of Events at New York Study Locations

From a wide selection of NYC venues, it's best to take the pros and cons of these kinds of study spaces into account before you actually book them.

Advantages

  • If you're looking for a private and quiet place in which you can get some work done, then a brownstone with a proper study area would work out much better for you than a café or a public city library.

  • They're large and spacious enough to accommodate a sizeable group of people and have space enough for all of them to work on their own and focus on their tasks.

  • These study spaces often have comfortable seating and desks so you can easily conduct a workshop with a bunch of students without getting tired and frustrated.

Disadvantages

  • While a lot of these meeting rooms are very private and quiet, many are on the expensive side if you're just looking for a study spot.

  • If you're looking for a space to conduct a shoot or a seminar, many of these private study spots might not have the equipment that you need. You'll need to bring all that in.

  • It's NYC, and venues tend to get booked out very quickly. You have to book far in advance to get a shot at your favorite study spots.

Getting Ready for a New York Study Rental

Arranging a workshop for a bunch of enthusiasts or a seminar for a class of students? While there are a variety of ways you can make use of a private study room, some steps are essential.

Determine Your Goals – First, you have to focus on what you hope to achieve by this event. Only then can you actually draw up a list of invitees or even choose a suitable venue.

Choose the Location – Finding the best study spots with plenty of light and comfortable seating is now easy with the help of Giggster. Just make sure that it offers the space, amenities, and services that you need.

Plan the Activities – Usually, study or meeting sessions have a variety of agendas and activities. From hands-on stuff to creative brainstorming sessions, plan for some food and beverage breaks in the middle.

Gather Your Equipment – This could range from as simple a thing as pencils and paper all the way to projectors and laptops with special software installed. Plan ahead so everything is sorted by the actual date.

How to Save Money on a Study Rental in New York

With study spots in NYC starting at just $18/hour, don't stop budgeting there! Let's look at some other ways that you can cut down costs with these New York rentals.

Start out with a budget.

Make a budget straight off the bat, for the venue and any food and other materials that you might need to buy, and stick to it no matter what! Prepare for even unforeseen costs so you don't get a shock later.

What amenities does the space have?

Study spaces don't come with a lot of free amenities, apart from chairs and tables. But try and find out whether free Wi-Fi is part of the rental cost and if writing materials or AV equipment will be provided.

Limit the number of people.

The fewer the number of people, the smaller the space can be! Remember that the bigger the venue is, the more it will likely cost. Nothing wrong with keeping your workshop or study session exclusive!

Plan Your Study Event with Giggster

Search for and book the perfect study spot in NYC with the help of Giggster. Whichever you prefer, a sprawling school auditorium and stage for photoshoots or seminars, or a sunny Brooklyn brownstone with a cozy study and work area, we can promise you'll be glad of our services!
