- Weather
Overall, the weather is pleasant and mild in Salt Lake City. The city sees a greater amount of sunshine and less rain than other cities do, and this makes it a pleasant place to live and work throughout the year. They make up for precipitation in the winter with the snow levels though.
- Public transportation options
Some cities have limited public transportation and you feel the need to hire private transportation to get where you need to go. Public transportation is also an option in Salt Lake City, UT with light rail, a commuter train, and buses.
- Diversity
Salt Lake City is a diverse and welcoming city, and we wish every city was as strong at diversity and inclusivity as it is here. There’s a diverse population and everyone is welcome to visit, work, or stay here.
Disadvantages
- Snow
There’s a reason there are so many ski areas around Salt Lake City. They get more snow, on average than other cities. This makes everything clean and bright, but it can also disrupt travel schedules.
- Cost
Costs can be higher on some items in Salt Lake City and this can increase the bottom line of your production space project. There are some areas where you’ll spend less and somewhere you’ll spend more. Just do your homework before heading to the city to understand how it will impact your budget.
- Navigation
Most people can find their way around a new city using the street numbering system, and you easily acclimate and move around. That will be more difficult in Salt Lake City, the street numbering started in Mormon Square, so it doesn’t work the way you think it will. Get out your GPS when in doubt.

There’s something to do in every season, from sunbathing and swimming to hiking and mountain bikes. Many enjoy exploring the islands within the lake too.
- Salt Lake Temple
The Salt Lake Temple is a pretty stunning sight on the skyline, and it will be hard to miss if you’re anywhere near downtown. The site is 10-acres, and you can explore the architecture, landscaping, and other features. Even the non-religious enjoy a visit to Temple Square to soak in some of the city’s history. Listening to the Mormon Tabernacle Choir sing is also an experience worth seeking.

The unique geography and natural history of the state make the Natural History Museum of Utah well worth a stop. There are a variety of collections and exhibits to see and always something to learn or a topic to dive deeper into. The museum also conducts research and there are frequent updates on progress shared through museum exhibits.
