The apartment is very nice and comfortable! Location is very convenient, near shops and public transport. Sarah was very helpful and friendly, she’s a super host!

We used Sarah’s home for the filming of interviews for a network show. She was incredibly responsive and flexible with some last minute changes. The house is in a central location (nearby food, Apple store, FedEx, Target, etc.), so if any needs come up during filming it’s easy to problem solve. The house was quiet, clean, and we had access to plenty of parking. I’d be happy to book again and strongly recommend this location.

Great experience shooting at Amy's place. House photographs well. She was extremely accommodating, responsive, and gave us space to work.

This was a great location that fit our video's look and feel perfectly. The kitchen/dining space was a nice size for staging crafty and client working area, while the main shooting happened in the upstairs bedroom/bathroom. Home was left clean and tidy for us, and Amy gave us free roam of her home to work in all day. She made it easy for us from start to finish, and I would certainly recommend this spot to others!

Had a fantastic experience shooting in the bookshop. Max accommodated all of our needs and was very professional. It's an amazing space-- the photos on Giggster don't even do it justice. We were thrilled with what we saw and even happier when we got there. I'm even leaving 5 stars for parking because we unexpectedly lucked out and nabbed a meter right in front for our production vehicle. We weren't shooting with sound but I don't expect there would have been any issues if a production needed to do so. Five stars for the space and the staff all around. Would love to shoot here again.

Pros and Cons of Wedding Venues in San Francisco

Before you finalize a space for your dream wedding, evaluate it against a stringent checklist that ensures your chosen space is the one for you. Here are some pros and cons of wedding venues in San Francisco that you should keep in mind.

Advantages

  • This city has excellent transport connectivity along with the added bonus of having the San Francisco International Airport and the Oakland International Airport.

  • Being a prime location, it’s easy to find vendors, live musicals, or a budget San Francisco wedding photographer within minutes in this town.

  • San Francisco has an extraordinary culinary scene that combines Californian cuisine with tasty drinks from Napa and Sonoma vineyards nearby.

  • Barring the infamous fog, this city has clear, sunny weather all year round, perfect for outdoor weddings in open venues.

Disadvantages

  • Due to city ordinances, many venues have early curfews or noise limits, which might cut your celebration short or limit live music options.

  • Prime wedding months (spring and fall) see increased competition for venues and vendors, driving up prices and making it harder to secure your desired date.

  • Fog and unpredictable weather due to close proximity to the waters can be a hurdle if you are planning an outdoor wedding.

  • Steep hills around the majority of the off-beach rentals and tight parking can make things a bit challenging for elderly and disabled guests.

Choosing the Right Type of Location for a Wedding Venue in San Francisco

So you’ve chosen the wedding theme, and planning is in full swing. Wondering about what kind event venue would be the perfect match for your special day? Here are a few inspirational ideas from Giggster's 486 wedding spots.

Retro Villas and Estates – Timeless Elegance. Host a wedding steeped in grandeur and luxury. Areas like Nob Hill, Presidio Heights, and Pacific Heights have many exquisite properties fit for intimate weddings. You can also go with art galleries and historical sites like the San Francisco Mint and the Argonaut Asian Art Museum.

Seaview Resorts – Romantic Coastal Vibes. Beaches and weddings are truly a combination made in heaven. Seaview resorts are perfect for couples wanting a daytime wedding with upscale amenities.

Grand Rec-centers – Majestic Celebrations. Spaces with a large hall and dining area are good for those having plenty of out-of-town guests or a long guest list. These venues offer flexibility and the option to have a separate area reserved for each activity.

Boutique Hotels – Stylish Settings. This choice is perfect for you if you are looking for an all-in-one event venue that takes care of everything starting from large gatherings, catering, and lodging to private parking spaces and guest comfort. You can find many such hotels around Japantown, Union Square, and Hayes Valley.

Open Gardens and Vineyards – Nature’s Charm. For a wedding surrounded by greenery, San Francisco’s gardens and nearby vineyards provide a tranquil escape. These venues are perfect for couples looking to incorporate natural beauty into their special day.

Planning Your Wedding in San Francisco

Ditching the conventional ‘event planner’ way to carve out a celebration fitting your personal taste? With Giggster’s scenic options and this brief guide, you can set things in motion without any confusion.

Preliminary Budgeting – It’s easy to overspend (especially in the wrong areas) in a wedding. Have a dedicated budget along with a specific amount of money you allot to each department like venue rental, decor, food, etc.

Theme and Date Selection – Do you want a daytime or a nighttime wedding? When can all your guests attend without any hassle? Pick a wedding theme and date considering accessibility factors and style preferences in mind.

Venue Scouting – Once you have a date, browse through Giggster’s collection of 486 wedding venues and pick a spot that best aligns with your creative vision.

Food and Decor – Reach out to vendors separately or negotiate a bundled deal with a well-known wedding planner that includes all essentials like live music, catering, decor, and final-day arrangements.

How to Save Money on Your Wedding in San Francisco

Planning a wedding in San Francisco doesn’t have to break the bank. You can still have the wedding of your dreams within a modest budget if you make some clever adjustments. Here’s how to save money on your wedding in San Francisco.

Host during the day instead of night.

Celebrating in the early morning gives you two benefits. First, the event venue will not be as crowded, making it easier for your guests to reach and park their vehicles. Second, you can avail of early-bird discounts to save money on event rental.

Can you hire freelancers instead of expensive studios?

Platforms like Upwork, Fiverr, and local Facebook groups can help you get in touch with many freelancers who deliver excellent results at a fraction of the price of a professional photography studio. You can also find local artists and bands by posting on local city boards or Reddit.

Skip the gourmet dinner and go for budget options.

A buffet, or food trucks are some affordable alternatives to hiring an expensive caterer. San Francisco is known for its tasty food palette, so you can never go wrong with either option.
