About the Space

This is the entire second floor at a building in central Los Angeles. Step into a raw, cinematic location with authentic early 2000s office vibes with waiting room — perfect for thrillers, horror, music videos, or dystopian dramas. Recommending hours for best sound recording: - Weekends - Weekdays before 10am and after 6pm • Abandoned Office Rooms: Worn carpet, cracked ceiling tiles, and old-school windows give these rooms a time-stamped corporate decay feel. • Warehouse-Style Room: A large open space with faded wooden flooring and fluorescent lights. • Reception Area & Lobby: Retro red carpeting, staircases, and a glassed-in check-in window add a bureaucratic feel. • Long Hallways: Ideal for suspenseful tracking shots, chases, or eerie, slow-burn moments. • Retro Bathroom with Blue Tile Shower: Perfect for grungy, unsettling scenes. • Old Kitchenette: Black-and-white checkered floors and dated cabinets deliver that eerie, untouched vibe. Looks you can achieve here: • Government office / abandoned school / haunted hospital • Startup in decline / secret lab / detective agency • Police station or interrogation facility (with some light dressing)

This location is amazing — it really lives up to its name. It has a great vibe and has been perfect every time I’ve used it. So far, I’ve filmed here three times, and I’ll be coming back once more for reshoots. I’ve used it on both Saturday and Sunday, and each time it was completely dead quiet, which was perfect for recording audio. The neighborhood is a working-class, semi-industrial area, but we never once felt unsafe. There were no issues with parking or concerns about our cars. We did have one mix-up with an actress — her Uber broke down, and I accidentally mistook someone walking nearby for her. Over the course of our time there, they actually became really helpful, pointing us toward local places to get food and giving tips on how to avoid traffic. In general, the people in and around the building were very friendly and respectful, and the surrounding buildings were also very quiet. We never had to deal with disruptive noise, which made filming a breeze. Just a funny side note — my ex, who works in the film industry, lived nearby. I told her I had to show her this place because of how quiet it was. She didn’t believe me at first, saying, “It’s an industrial area, how quiet can it be?” The moment we got there, she was blown away, saying, “Oh my God, it’s so quiet I can hear you breathing in the other room.” That’s how silent it is, and the atmosphere just adds to how great the location feels. Now, working with Minnie was honestly one of the best experiences I’ve had. As a first-time director, I didn’t really know what to look for in good, reliable people. I’m still figuring that out. For example, on my last day of shooting, I had to let go of some actors because they were either no-shows or immediately difficult once we were ready to shoot. I’ve learned that if someone just shows up from the street looking aloof, it’s probably not a good fit. In my head, I used to think actors were supposed to be eccentric — but no, professionalism matters more than anything. Minnie, on the other hand, was completely 100% professional from the start. There was no hot-and-cold energy, no misunderstandings. Her communication was crystal clear from the get-go. She’s incredibly understanding, polite, and kind — truly a pleasure to work with. She’s flexible, willing to work around your schedule, and makes the whole process smooth. She gave me a lot of freedom with the location as long as I communicated with her in advance, which I really appreciated. The rules are simple: follow her basic guidelines, keep everything clean, don’t damage anything, and put everything back the way it was. Do that, and you’ll have a perfect experience. ⭐ Location: 5 out of 5 stars ⭐ Minnie’s Communication: 5 out of 5 stars ⭐ Minnie’s Professionalism: 5 out of 5 stars ⭐ Overall Experience with Minnie: 5 out of 5 stars — just an amazing person to work with, and I’m really looking forward to doing it again.
