About the Space
Step into an upstairs abandoned 1970s apartment set just 9 miles east of Downtown LA. With grungy wallpaper, stained carpet, and yellowing walls, this worn-in environment is designed for productions looking for an authentic, cinematic space. The apartment features a vintage kitchen, living room, den or family room, bedroom, two bathrooms, and a central enclosed atrium where lights can be placed or daylight can be motivated across multiple rooms. Sunlight can be fully controlled for consistent shooting conditions. The space is air conditioned, and overnight shoots are available at no additional cost. Key Features – Upstairs abandoned apartment set, approx. 1200 sq. ft. – Vintage kitchen, living room, den or family room, bedroom, and two bathrooms – Central enclosed atrium with daylight control and motivated natural light options – Lower-level apartment landing with multiple numbered doors, brass mailboxes, and set decor – Textured walls, peeling wallpaper, and aged finishes for an authentic abandoned look – Priority access to the loading dock for easy gear load-in and load-out – Air conditioned for comfort and live sound – Flexible layout for creative set dressing Scouting We offer complimentary 30-minute scouts prior to booking. Furnishings & Props Along with a bed, couches, tables, chairs, nightstands, and a dresser, this set also includes access to our prop room stocked with 60s through 90s style furniture, televisions, lamps, and decor. Wallpaper and finishes are in a constant state of change due to wear and tear. Please scout in person to confirm the current condition. Gear Available Rent where you shoot and save time on transport. We offer cameras (RED, Sony, Blackmagic), cine lenses, Aputure lights, Litepanels, Quasars, grip gear, hazers, and more. Reach out if you would like a full gear list or have specific requests. Additional Amenities Shared breakspace area, restrooms, tables, chairs, refrigerator, microwave, sinks, and make-up mirrors included. Private air-conditioned holding spaces, green rooms, and production offices are available the same day. Rates are $50, $250, and $500. Inquire for details. One of our best shooting experience- Jacob the site-rep is the absolute best to work with, Our team has been shooting in all kinds of studios in LA, but Jacob is definitely the kindest, most responsive and easiest to work around with. The location is spacious, and very convenient for access, also comes with A LOT of parking. Highly recommend!

What can we say, it's an iconic spot! Aside from some logistical challenges (stairs leading up to the location), it's a great space with lots of character, and the production amenities, like a kitchen, staging area, and tons of free parking, are perfect for any size of production.

Really great set. Feels extremely lived-in and was perfect for our purposes of creating a scene set in the 1990s. It also lended itself well to the different tones we sought to create.

The location manager (Jacob) went above and beyond with communication. The space was exactly what we were looking for and we had an absolutely wonderful experience. Recommend this location to everyone! Just be sure you have time allowed for the load in & out on the stairs if you're using the Apartment set.
