About the Space
Photo Studio Established in the mid-1980s—back when 21st Street was still cobblestone and photographers shot exclusively on film— our Photo Studio has a unique character unmatched by contemporary spaces. Located on the top floor of a classic pre-war loft building, the studio is warm, welcoming, and fully professional. It's an ideal space for still or fashion photography, offering versatility and style. The studio features: An L-shaped layout with two shooting zones: a bright daylight area and a larger 11'x11' set wall with a matching floor Natural light throughout, with blackout shades available Comfortable sitting and dining areas for clients and crew Air conditioning, Wi-Fi, and a music system Both passenger and freight elevators (note: freight elevator is unavailable on weekends) A floor plan is included with the images for your planning convenience. Location The studio is in a prime spot: Half a block from Trader Joe’s One block from Foto-Care and The Set Shop A short walk to CSI Rentals and Adorama Available Equipment & Grip Rentals We offer a selection of basic gear, including: Auto poles V-flats Sandbags Apple boxes 40" and 20" C-stands Two rolling wardrobe racks with hangers Two steamers Nano Lights and Profoto lights If you have specific equipment needs or special setup requirements, feel free to reach out to your host, Jack, to discuss.

Jack’s studio is absolutely fantastic! The space is large, clean, and perfectly equipped for every kind of shoot from commercial photography to creative studio sessions. Jack himself is incredibly patient, friendly, and accommodating to any needs or ideas you might have. He made sure everything was comfortable and enjoyable, even providing food and drinks throughout the session, which was such a thoughtful touch. His professionalism and attention to detail really helped bring our vision to life. Thank you Jack!

We used this space for a commercial photo shoot with about 25-30 people and it was the perfect space for our needs. Jack is a very accommodating and gracious host. The freight and regular elevators are both on the same street which makes for easy load-in and load-out. Would certainly rent again and highly recommend.

To top it off, he left out a snack plate for us, which was such a nice touch. The space itself is endlessly flexible with a fantastic vibe. Couldn’t recommend it more – a solid 10/10.

This was the best studio experience I’ve had on Giggster yet! Jack and Keith made it a seamless experience and were extremely attentive and helpful with whatever we needed. They were super accommodating of our schedule and worked with us every step of the way. I cannot recommend this studio enough! I will definitely be back with future projects!
