The property is beautiful, with a beautiful backyard. I was tasked with finding a location in the middle of November weather that still looked like spring. To my surprise, and knowledge this location is the ONLY location in the entire city that looks this beautiful even during the winter months. The host was very friendly, and helpful. I highly recommend this location especially if you're looking for a beautiful intimate backyard garden. Five Stars!!!

Giggster gives you access to all sorts of venues, from cozy studios and reading rooms to study halls in Atlanta, GA, and beyond.

  • Why book a single meeting room or a study area when you can have an entire mansion or a historic house estate at your disposal? You have your own library, a grand hall for events or shoots, and multiple rooms with loads of character and personality.

  • Enjoy the best of both worlds in a restored craftsman house with a garden and spacious backyard in Atlanta. If the weather cooperates, you can set up chairs, tables, and your study materials outside for a serene outdoor study session, al fresco meeting, or small gathering, surrounded by nature.

  • If you're not fond of going to a public library with your group or don't want to deal with the library staff near you, book a downtown studio loft to serve as the next setting for your study group, brainstorming session, business meeting, or shoot.

  • Combine business and leisure in a classic house. Imagine a library inside with a wall full of bookshelves and other items for research, a kitchen to prepare food for attendees, a formal living room for mingling, and a pool to host gatherings.

The Best Events for Library Spaces in Atlanta

Atlanta library spaces are more than just a place to read books and increase your knowledge. They're incredibly versatile and can serve as a venue for countless events, business gatherings, production projects, photo shoots, and more.

  • Film Production and Photo Shoots – Beyond the Books. Atlanta features old, grand libraries and even those with sleek modern architecture that offer visually rich backdrops for any project you're brewing, from advertisements and music videos to documentaries or anything that needs an academic, historical, or intellectual setting. You'll also find many of them inside mansions and opulent homes with dramatic staircases, gigantic doors, and elegant interiors.

  • Author Readings – From Page to Stage. It's a library, so it makes sense to host author readings in this location and bring written works to life. Pick a library with an open area to organize programs and activities or a flexible space you can set up to match your vision.

  • Panel Discussions – Spark Conversations. There's no better place for an intellectual exchange and public discourse than an Atlanta library. It's not only because they have lots of books and services designed for learning and information, but also thanks to the A/V equipment, good acoustics, and convenient seating arrangements they often provide.

  • Art Exhibitions – Where Creativity is Permitted. Impress your patrons and give young artists, emerging talents, and even established creators a fresh space to display their groundbreaking pieces and captivate art lovers from across the city. The bookshelves, good lighting, and a variety of books of all sizes add a visual element and can highlight their masterpieces.

  • Private Parties – Approved for Fun. This might come as a surprise to some, but yes, you can rent a library for private celebrations. Larger library venues in Atlanta offer dedicated event spaces that are separate from the main library functions and welcome anniversary parties, birthday bashes, micro-weddings, small receptions, dinners, and more.

Top Features to Look for in an Atlanta Library Venue

If you're eyeing an Atlanta library for your film shoot, photography session, or event, you'll want to dig a bit deeper than just the fact that it has books. Check out the following to assist you in planning:

Does it look the part? You probably already have a picture in your mind of what a library space looks like, but not all Atlanta library venues are the same. The good news is that you can find numerous options and view clear photos on the Giggster app, so you can inspect the place and assess its architectural style and aesthetic without having to schedule a visit.

How flexible is the space? You'll want a venue with multiple room options, especially if you plan to host activities, or a library with an open floor plan that gives you more freedom for camera angles and movement.

Do they have library staff and support? Many shoots or events need some kind of tech, whether it's a projector, reliable Wi-Fi, or a sound system, and having someone there responsible for troubleshooting it quickly is a lifesaver.

Things to Consider for Renting a Library Space in Atlanta

The distinct aesthetic, scholarly feel, and built-in resources are just a few of the many things to love about filming or hosting an event in a library venue in Atlanta. But before you convince your crew, organization, or group to rent one, weigh its pros and cons to help you make a more informed decision.

Advantages

  • Many Atlanta libraries come with useful amenities and features already in place, such as screens, projectors, Wi-Fi, and comfortable seating, which means less equipment you need to rent or bring yourself.

  • Because most libraries in Atlanta are located in accessible areas, some even near MARTA stations, it's easy for guests or crew to get to the location.

  • These venue types are usually quiet and offer a focused environment, so if you need a space for a lecture, workshop, meeting, or a shoot with minimal distraction, libraries are the place to be.

Disadvantages

  • Libraries operate within specific public hours, which means that if your event or shoot needs to run late into the evening or start extremely early, you may face extra fees or simply be unable to use the space during those times.

  • Popular library spaces in a busy city like Atlanta can fill up quickly, so you must plan weeks or even months in advance to secure the venue and date you prefer.

  • You might have to deal with a lot of students, community members, or locals unless you're renting out an entire wing or shooting after hours. This could be tricky for a private event or a shoot requiring absolute control of the background.

Getting Ready for an Atlanta Library Rental

Whether it's a quick short or an intimate event with your closest friends and family, you'd still need to plan and sort out a few details to ensure it goes smoothly and avoid issues.

Pick a Location It's not just the looks and vibe you should pay attention to; you must also think about the accessibility of the venue and how easy it is for your team or guests to get there.

Get the Necessary Permits or Approval You can't just show up with fifty guests or a camera crew and start setting up for the film or photo shoot, expecting everything to be fine. You must comply with local regulations and have all the requirements submitted to the specific library branch or system you're working with.

Prepare All Tools and Equipment List everything you need for the event or shoot, and then check with the library about what they have. No need to rent or buy what's already there.

Gather Your Team No matter how many shoots you've done or events you've planned, you cannot do it all alone. Create your dream team based on what you're working on and make sure everyone knows exactly what their role is.

Saving Money on a Library Event

Although the cost of living in Atlanta, GA, is a bit lower than the national average, hosting a library event here can still be an expensive endeavor. Here's how you can save money for your next gathering in the city's study center.

Use the library's amenities and features.

Before you shop around for party suppliers and vendors, check what's available at the venue. Many libraries already have a ton of stuff, such as furniture, A/V equipment, free, reliable internet, and a unique backdrop, which you can utilize to avoid renting additional items.

Do they have a free promotion?

Libraries often have community bulletin boards, online event calendars, and social media channels. Ask if they can help promote your event for free to help you save money on marketing.

Tap into local talent.

Does your event include entertainment or music? You don't need to hire expensive artists. What you can do is reach out to up-and-coming musicians, spoken word artists, or visual artists from local colleges or art schools who may be willing to perform for free or at a reduced rate to gain experience and exposure.
