Our rambling Brooklyn Victorian frame house with front porch is cozy inside, worn but welcoming outside--rustic, can be dressed to be homey ("Grandma's house") or sinister or sketchy. Lots of room in front and back yard for exterior shots and equipment; high ceilings in first floor hallway; country kitchen and "shabby-chic" living room and bedroom; and a light-filled central staircase with big landings. The house has starred in 2 episodes of "Law & Order&

Welcome to Bushwick. The loft that you'll be in is inspired by industrial look-and-feel of the area accented with some of my favorite things (including lots of plants!). The loft has an open floor-plan, however, I have sectioned off an area as a bedroom. The area around the loft has a ton of restaurants, venues, nightlife and vintage shops (in case you are looking for things in the area). You'll be two blocks from the L train (3-5 minute walk), that will take you into Manhatt

Constructed for a 16th-century Ducal Palace on the outskirts of Urbino, Italy, the woodwork was purchased by Edith Fabbri at the outbreak of World War I and incorporated into the design of the House. It was shipped via two different vessels so that at least half of the room would survive if one ship was torpedoed. The woodwork was installed by a Florentine carpenter by the name of “Tonino,” under the direction of Egisto Fabbri, who designed the organ grille and the main entrance to correspon

New York City Library Space Location Must-Haves

When booking a library space, check for some important must-have features to ensure that you locate the best venue to match your requirements.

How much lighting do you need? Some library spaces are decorated to look dark, moody, and atmospheric, creating the perfect creative venue for an intimate gathering. However, if you're booking a library space for a production or photo session, you should look for one with lots of lighting, such as in the form of sunshine streaming through huge windows.

Do you need multiple rooms? If you're hosting a party with different activities like dining and networking, you can find library spaces that have multiple rooms or upper and lower levels, like lofts, apartments, and mansions. Consider your guest count and how much capacity you require for your event before booking a venue.

Do you need production amenities? For film/TV production sessions or live-streaming events, see if the library space has the features and tech amenities you need, like cyclorama walls, hair/makeup areas, and lighting equipment.

Things to Consider for Renting a Library Space Venue in New York City

Before you go ahead and rent a library space in NYC for your upcoming event, there are factors to consider.

Pros

  • Library spaces are unique, creative settings in which you can host social and corporate events.

  • New York offers a diverse range of distinctive library venues, such as those nestled in beautiful mansions or vintage buildings—there are tons of options!

  • NYC libraries are all about accessibility— you can find venues in areas like Staten Island, Manhattan, and Brooklyn, so they're easy for guests/attendees to reach.

Cons

  • Library places are traditionally quiet locations, so loud noises could be prohibited.

  • Although some library spaces have other on-site structures or rooms, you don't always get access to them.

  • Library spaces usually possess specific interior design elements, preventing you from customizing them to your heart's content.

Planning Your Library Space Event in New York City

When preparing to host an event in a library space, there are some things to consider so that everything goes according to plan.

Choose a Clean, Classy Menu – Since libraries tend to be quiet spaces, you want to avoid serving foods with crunchy textures that make a noise. You should also choose finger foods that are easy to eat without making a mess.

Select the Best Time of Day – Depending on the type of event you're hosting, choose a daytime or nighttime slot for it based on what's most convenient for your guests. Note that some library space rentals are only available during the day.

Book According to Guest Count – How many people will be attending your workshop or party? This number is important as it influences the type of venue to book for your event. Have enough space for your activities so that your guests are comfortable.

Consider Creative Spaces – If you need a spot for a party and want to customize the space, choose a flexible library venue such as one located inside a mid-century modern home or creative loft. In such spaces, the library area takes a bit of a backseat so you're not limited in terms of what you can set up in the location.

How to Save Money on a Library Space Rental in New York City

Whether you're searching for a community room with books or a more elaborate space, you can save money when hosting an event in a library venue.

Search for an affordable space.

There are wallet-friendly venues available to rent, like studios or duplexes. Some don't offer a traditional library atmosphere, but you can customize them with books and decor items. Dare to branch out and be creative when selecting a venue! Giggster's spaces start at just $20/hour, so they'll further save you money.

Set up coffee and tea stations.

When hosting a corporate or production session, skip having your event catered and choose a simple idea for keeping your team or crew hydrated. All you need to do is set up a coffee/tea station along with tasty homemade snacks to keep hunger at bay.

Have a DIY clean-up crew.

Some library venues offer cleaning services at an extra cost. While these are useful, they can be costly if you're on a tight budget. It could be better to do your own cleaning after the event. Ask a few volunteers to help you out and strive to keep the venue clean during your event, such as by serving foods that don't make a mess and placing trash cans around the place.

Plan Your Library Space Event with Giggster

On the Giggster app, you can find a range of beautiful library spaces in New York City to meet your event requirements, whether you're looking for a comfortable location or a traditional one to complement your special occasion. Choosing a library space is a distinctive choice when hosting memorable events!
